Bogata Hay Barn

Bogata Hay Barn 6 x 6 oil on panel
Sold

I'm working on some larger pieces so I haven't had much to post. Hopefully, a few of those will be post ready this week.
The other thing that has been a major distraction this past week is that one of our dogs (we have 5) has gone blind very suddenly. My little Sophie is the oldest of our pack- she is almost 13 but my husband and I call her the Dorian Grey of dogs- she has always looked like a perpetual puppy. Internet research and trips to the vet leave us without hope that she will regain her sight and another eventually fatal condition was also found. We are, needless to say, very sad.

I'm very sorry for news about your dog. I love this painting for its blend of color field painting and naturalism. It's brighter than recent work you've posted. Has Spring caused the change in palette?

Thank you, Laraine. I think the image has a bit more contrast than the actual painting, but, yes, it is brighter, isn't it? I am working on a couple of larger "spring" paintings so that must be it!

Sorry about your dog having such problems. I have two toy poodles, 13 & 12 yrs. old. They're both doing fine now...but I relate to your feelings.

Beautiful palette in your painting!

Hi Dean- I appreciate that very much. We just have to enjoy each moment with them while we can. Thanks for visiting!

Love this beautful lemony green grass. This color makes the painting so bright and vibrant.

Sorry to hear about your dog. We have 2 and one is a 19 year old mutt who's blind in one eye and deaf. We've just started having to carry him up the stairs. He took a tumble the other day but still gave me a couple of wags of his tail when I went down to collect him.

This is indeed brighter and not quite as moody as you other recent work. Appropriate for spring, I'd say.

I realized I exaggerated our dog's age. He's only 17.
