Florida

Morning on the Flats
16 x 30
Private Collection

I don't know why but in the spring I think of Florida, where I was born and raised. So, I thought I'd post this image again, which I wrote about here.

And here's a little poetry to go with it.

Florida

The State with the prettiest name,
The State that floats in brackish water
The State full of long S shaped birds, blue and white
Who coast for fun on strong tidal currents
in and out among the mangrove islands.

Deeply beautiful painting, Deborah. I was sorry it opens the same size, because I wanted to look at the brush strokes.

grazie tanto!

Thank you Casey- I think the original image was pretty small for some reason. I had to pick "large" when I uploaded it to Blogger to get it that big.

I have the same problems when I sit down for a rare photoshop session. I will save the images in several sizes and yet need to learn to save them in dimensions of inches, not just dpi sizes. It is a big job, and unfortunately my photoshop program sits on my old laptop which makes it that much more remote to mess with.

Sitting here on the east coast of Florida on this beautiful 75 degree day with the sun shinning, I fell in love with your painting. Sometimes seeing what is all around you through the vision of another makes you appreciate it more. Florida is indeed a very special place.
