Grazing at Dusk

Like many other bloggers, I was locked out of my blog over the last couple of days because of some problem Blogger had misclassifying blogs as spammers. Glad that's over!

We are having a heat wave. The up side of this steamy circumstance is that each evening the sky turns a beautiful shade of pinky something. The temperature drops just enough for everyone, including the cattle, to breathe a sigh of relief that the sun has set.

I really like the vibration you achieved in the sky. Looks like you first laid down a warm violet, then a warmer color on top.

Hi Ed. Yes, that's what I did and I also kept the value of the two very close- just scumbled the 2nd one on after the first layer was dry. Thanks for visiting!

Deborah - is this one an oil? I love the atmospheric quality of it. I think this type of sky is the 'reward' for surviving the heat. Where do you paint (part of the country)? This is my first visit to your blog, but I will for sure be back!
